The factory oil filter housing on N47 and N57 diesel engines is plastic, and it's a well-documented weak point — heat cycling over time causes it to crack, leading to oil or coolant leaks around the housing. This unit replaces it with a CNC-machined aluminium housing, engineered to handle the heat without degrading like the original.
